OpsGenie client apps were for long due for an update. The latest release (version 1.5) of OpsGenie apps (iPhone/iPad/Android/HTML5) include many usability improvements based on the feedback OpsGenie users have been providing. Here is a list of some of the more visible updates: - Custom push notification sounds! OpsGenie users can now customize the push notification sound OpsGenie iPhone and Android apps use. On Android, users have more freedom and can download and use their own sounds. On iPhone, we’ve included a set of sounds for you to use. If you have a favorite sound you’ve got to have, let us know! - Quick access to alert actions: In the alert list view, swiping from right to left displays the alert action menu for an alert without first having to open the alert details view. - Bulk actions: In the alert list view, swiping from left to right presents actions that apply to multiple alerts such as “acknowledge all”, “close all”, etc. Bulk actions are applied to alerts in batch, 10 alerts at a time, starting from the most recent. - On-call schedules: Users can now view their on-call schedule, and create forwarding rules (schedule exceptions) using OpsGenie apps - Alert list view, default filter has been changed to “open” alerts instead of all alerts. - Locale setting: OpsGenie started using locale setting (in Account settings page) to format date & time - Unacknowledged alerts filter display only open unaknowledged alerts - Users can view alerts that have attachment with .log extension We hope that these improvements will make OpsGenie apps little more fun to use (or little less painful). What’s next? In the short term, we are working on getting rid of the pesky validation dialogs that you see when you acknowledge or close an alert, and we will introduce “mute” action that will stop notifications for 2 minutes to make it easier to deal with alert storms. We’re committed to continue improving the usability of the apps, and as always, we rely on your feedback so please do continue to let us know what you like and don’t like! @berkay
